Participants will leave with:

  • strategies and structures for building a classroom culture centering habits of math

  • daily routines that promote habits of math

  • materials and tasks that integrate habits of math into content teaching for their courses

  • ideas for assessing and giving feedback

  • a community of teachers also working to incorporate habits of math into their teaching

Overview of daily schedule

We will begin each morning with breakfast and math. Each day, our exploration as mathematicians will motivate two specific habits of math, and we will spend the remainder of the day exploring culture building, daily routines, and tasks that have been successful in many classrooms. Breakfast, lunch, and tea and coffee will be provided (after all, a mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems).
